11,000 Pounds of Turkey and Zero Turnover, Thanksgiving with the Dallas Cowboys
Over 90,000 fans will be gathering at AT&T Stadium this Thursday for the 54th Annual Thanksgiving Day Cowboys Game. Thousands more will set up camp in the tailgate parking lot, some with fairly substantial meals while others either pack an early meal at home or hold back eating until after the game.
So much fuss for a soccer game. Or food. Anyway, you slice this bird, we’ll do that. What’s Thanksgiving Without a Cowboys Game?
Legends Hospitality at AT&T Stadium
The Legends Hospitality culinary team at the AT&T Stadium was busy preparing in the kitchens on Tuesday in preparation for Thursday’s game. They sent some b-roll shots of kitchens full of kitchen teams cutting, smashing, and (large bowls of guacamole) squirting. They also announced that those in attendance will enjoy some additional holiday menu items. In total, they expect more than 11,000 pounds of turkey, 7,600 pounds of mac ‘n’ cheese and 4,150 pounds of ham. And zero sales.
One of the specialties they bring this year is the Thanksgiving Hand Pie (photo above). This flaky pie crust is filled with dressing, lingonberry sauce, green beans, sweet potatoes, roast turkey breast, and internal egg sauce.
There is also a Thanksgiving bowl on the menu; It’s your staple of turkey breast, dressing, cowboys mac ‘n’ cheese, green beans, and a dash of giblet sauce, served with cranberry sauce and a brioche roll.

Some of the products you will see on plates are in AT&T Stadium and come from the WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn College. The HBCU campus in south Dallas turned its soccer field into a garden in 2010. The team has been working with the school ever since; More than 10% of the produce used in the stadium is grown on the college campus. On Tuesday morning, a chef from the stadium unloaded a delivery truck with fresh produce.
Legends Hospitality has also partnered with PQC for a Plant-Based Touchdown, which, according to their website, is “a new culinary campaign that focuses on the health benefits and full flavors of fresh produce.” This year a plant-based menu was introduced together with the farm in the stadium.
