7 Ghost Kitchens Hiding In Collin County

What is a ghost kitchen, you ask? Don’t worry, there’s nothing spooky about it, but if you’d rather call it a virtual eatery, that’s acceptable too.

To define this relatively new term, let’s stick with ghost kitchens. Basically, it’s a delivery restaurant or a restaurant with no dining room.

The secret of the ghost kitchen is that you rarely know where they are. You work in an existing restaurant or in a rentable large kitchen such as Revolving Kitchen in Garland or CIBO Kitchens in Frisco.

At the end of the day, they avoid the cost of a full restaurant for all understandable reasons we can think of.

Ghost kitchens are not a new concept, but they have grown in popularity since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Gourmets still value restaurant quality food, but prefer to have it delivered. At the same time, restaurateurs and talented chefs need a creative way to stay afloat.

Most of these hidden kitchens deliver through third-party suppliers like UberEats, DoorDash, Grubhub, and Postmates, while some use their own delivery drivers or offer roadside pick-up.

We’re digging this smart kitchen sharing concept. It gives chefs a chance to try something new while we enjoy the practical benefits. Here are 7 of our favorite local ghost kitchens available on a grocery delivery app near you!

Ghost Kitchen # 1: Pancakes with benefits

Pancake lovers in Plano will love the artisan pancakes delivered to their door by Pancakes With Benefits. The flavors are out of this world: Lemon Ricotta, Cinnamon Roll, Hot Cocoa, and even Vegan, among others. These people are serious about pancakes and we secretly hope that one day they will open a full restaurant. Until then, we’ll be happy to eat them at home in pajamas.

Ghost Kitchen # 2: Secret barbecue sauce

City Works locations across the country, including the Frisco location, have their own brand of ghost kitchens called Secret Sauce BBQ. Who knew This takeaway-and-delivery-only concept has a fairly large menu that includes Texas-style chili, a BBQ chicken chopped salad, BBQ pork tacos, and a smokehouse burger. Try a smoker combo plate or grilled corn on the cob and don’t miss the children’s menu.

Ghost Kitchen # 3: It’s just wings

You likely met It’s Just Wings on your favorite food delivery app, but you may not have realized that you actually ordered from Chili’s. Dallas’ own Brinker International uses their existing Maggiano and Chili kitchens and chefs to offer a wing-only menu with lots of spicy sauces and lots of curly fries on the side.

Ghost kitchen # 4 Foodgod truffle fries

The Foodgod Truffle Fries delivery menu is clearly all about the fries. Here you can find flavors like garlic parmesan, buffalo truffle, and loaded truffles, as well as burgers, chicken tenders, and chicken sandwiches. If you search for delivery areas online, you will find quite a few results in the Collin County area. This is due to their clever collaboration with other restaurants in the area.

Ghost Kitchen # 5: Good as luck

The menu at Good as Cluck focuses on one thing and one thing only. Wings and tenders, always delivered hot and fresh in Plano. You can season your wings with gravy and toss or treat with a dry rub, whatever sounds good to you. Choose from bone, breaded, tender and flapper, or mix and match and choose a combination. Don’t forget the fries and don’t be afraid to ask for an extra sauce on the side. The sauces range from mild to crazy hot, with creative flavors like pineapple habanero and bourbon teriyaki.

Ghost Kitchen # 6: Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen

As one of the better known ghost kitchens, we hear that Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen operates out of its Brio Italian Grille and Buca di Beppo locations in Allen, Frisco, Dallas and Southlake. The delivery menu offers a selection of hearty starters such as barbecue wings with brown bourbon sugar, cheesesteak egg rolls and jalapeno pork poppers. You can also find flavorful entrees like chicken parm-eroni, a Cuban sandwich, and mac daddy mac n cheese.
