70s, low humidity, light winds expected for start of week

With the rain in check, the fall weather can stay here.

The high afternoon temperatures will be between the low to mid-70s earlier this week, with overnight lows in the 50s. Light winds of 5 to 10 miles per hour will sweep Dallas-Fort Worth on Monday.

The sky will be sunny with some clouds, according to the National Weather Service.

“It’s going to be a beautiful autumn day,” said meteorologist Grant Johnston of KXAS-TV (NBC5). “Sunshine, blue sky, low humidity and little wind – simply a perfect combination.”

The higher temperatures will return later this week, reaching 84 by Sunday. The low temperatures will remain in the mid-50s to the mid-60s.

There is a 20% chance of rain on Thursday, but the weekend looks warm and dry, Johnston said.

Here’s what NBC5’s latest forecast says:

Monday: 75/56, mostly sunny and pleasant.

Tuesday: 80/56, mostly sunny, airy and a little warmer.

Wednesday: 85/63, partly cloudy and warmer.

Thursday: 80/61, partly cloudy with a slight chance of rain of 20%.

Friday: 79/55, partly cloudy and mild.

Saturday: 83/59, mostly sunny and a little warmer.

Sunday: 84/64, mostly sunny, airy and warm.
