A new residential tower on the way in Dallas’ Oak Lawn
Another residential tower in Dallas is in the works – this one in Oak Lawn.
The One Turtle Creek skyscraper is planned near Cedar Springs Road and Turtle Creek.
It’s a project by USA Infrastructure Investments, a real estate company led by longtime Dallas developer Paul Cheng.
Last September, the real estate company bought a lot on Dickason Avenue, one block from Cedar Springs. Now the developers have submitted plans to the state for a 17-story residential building with 46 units.
According to the planning documents, work on the project would begin this summer with an opening in early 2023. “We are working on starting this fall,” Cheng said in an email.
Chicago-based Lucien Lagrange Studio designs the building.
Developer Cheng has been running projects in North Texas since 1979. And USA Infrastructure Investments is currently working on deals in Southern California, Hawaii, and cities in Texas.
The Oak Lawn residential tower planned by the real estate company is located in an area where there is a lot of new construction. It is also close to the Mansion on Turtle Creek Hotel.
And it’s two blocks from where developers just announced plans for a $ 750 million Four Seasons hotel, condominium, and office on Turtle Creek.
In the same area of Oak Lawn, Toll Brothers are building a 22-story high-rise apartment building on Congress Avenue.
And on Oak Lawn Avenue, Austin developer Oden Hughes and Canada-based North American Development Group are building a seven-story residential project next to the landmark Melrose Hotel.
With fewer development locations in the trendy uptown area of Dallas, builders are migrating to the nearby Oak Lawn.
