A Venomous Cobra Is Roaming Loose In A Dallas Suburb

It seems that wild animals have a penchant for roaming the cities of Texas. A cobra who lived in the Dallas suburbs followed in the footsteps of Houston’s fugitive tiger and escaped her home in Grand Praire.

According to The Chron, officials in the Grand Prarie neighborhood have warned homeowners of a deadly West African Banded Cobra that has escaped from their home.

The cobra owners reported the escape to animal services and stated that the cobra disappeared around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

“If only we had a lock on the cage … There wasn’t a lock,” the owner told Fox News 4. “And it could have been handled easily.”

Grand Prairie Police are asking people in the area to report any sights of the missing Cobra, but they have advised people not to take matters into their own hands and let the professionals catch it.

“Don’t let yourself be exaggerated. It won’t haunt you, anything like that, ”said Randall Kennedy of Dallas Fort Worth Wildlife. “If you step on it, it will bite you. If you grab it, it will bite you. Otherwise you are pretty sure. “

Certainly a somewhat too casual term when you consider that a bite from the poisonous cobra can be fatal depending on your body type, there is no antidote for the cobra’s poison.
