Addison’s Kaboom Town! Marks Return of Summer Celebrations – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

After the show went virtual in 2020, Addison’s Kaboom Town was! made his return after the pandemic on Saturday.

At Addison Circle Park, the event’s main watch party, capacity was limited to 75% of 19,000 people.

Even if the event was a bit smaller, the mood did not deteriorate.

“Getting together as a family and doing something big like this is amazing,” said Nia Hill.

Hill was part of one of many large groups in the park that would have been disheartened a year ago.

Like many others, she said that her family was participating in the Addison tradition for the first time, hoping to make the most of the holiday weekend.

“It’s supposed to be the biggest fireworks show in Texas, so I’m really excited,” said Hill.

Although tickets for the event sold out, it attracts more than 500,000 people to the Addison area with watch parties at 180 nearby restaurants and 22 hotels.

“It feels so good to be with other people, enjoy the sun and just hear the band play. It’s nice to be back outside, ”said Bonnie Brown, who was on the show for the first time with her husband and two boys.

In addition to live music, there was also food vendors and a first Addison Airport Freedom flyover that day.

This year’s show is 25% bigger than 2019’s, with more than 4,000 shells fired from the south side of Addison Airport.
