Alex Perry snags Kips Bay Decorator Show House listing

Designers from across the country are bringing their vision to the classic Georgian residence at 5138 Deloache in Old Preston Hollow for the 2021 Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas. It will be open to the public from September 24th through October 24th, with all ticket proceeds going to charity.

The house will then be put up for sale through exclusive realtor Alex Perry of Allie Beth Allman & Associates.

Each of the 25 designers and their teams are given a space to reinvent themselves in the 11,195 square meter house, which is located on 1.44 hectares. Not only will the event add immense value to the property for future sales, but it will also bring unexpected updates, new amenities and materials from around the world, according to Perry, who cannot overstate the benefits this brings to a buyer.

“In a market where it is so difficult to get builders, materials and designers together in a house and then put the house up for sale, this is an anomaly,” he said. “This is an opportunity to get something turnkey from some of the best designers in the country.”

Located in Preston Hollow’s Sunnybrook Estates, the house already has divine architecture and construction, he said.

Venise and Larry Stuart are largely responsible for this. In 1998 they bought the dilapidated property. They demolished it, saved many architectural elements and built a Georgian-style residence that exudes traditional grandeur.

In 2008, the late architect Cole Smith carried out another renovation under different owners. “The designers who chose the timeless home really add to what great professionals have already conveyed here,” said Perry.

Talents like Ken Fulk, who has created enchanting restaurants from San Francisco to New York City, and the Dallas-based company Yates Desygn, whose work extends to Tokyo and beyond, will shape the spacious rooms. From the pool deck and patios to the entertainer’s dream of a cellar and wine bar, the property is destined to host imaginative designs.

And once Kips Bay closes its doors, a buyer will reap the rewards.

“The special thing about this house is that top designers give each room their touch and at the same time everything comes together to make it a beautiful home,” said Perry.

Allie Beth Allman & Associates sells more properties priced at $ 2 million and more than any other real estate agency, and in prime neighborhoods like Highland Park, University Park and the Park Cities and Preston Hollow combined, according to multiple listing service statistics.
