His eyes were fixed on his monitor. Seth “Scump” Abner’s mouth stayed open as he faced Warzone’s top earner Aydan “Aydan” Conrad in a one-on-one shootout for the biggest solo Warzone match of all time on November 17th.
The night finally ended for Abner with a $ 8 glass of champagne and a tour of Wedding Crashers. It was a $ 100,000 celebration.
Abner had nothing to do with what he was doing – the CDL star cut through Warzone pros without giving in to the meta. And he did that without stopping by Verdansk for weeks.
Abner said he felt he and the CDL pros were tallied. They were certainly not the favorites, even though they were on the professional track.
Scump, the heart and soul of the OpTic Texas Call of Duty League roster, has been eliminated on Aydan. He couldn’t believe it as he took his headset off his head, put his arms in the air, and ran tiny laps through his streaming room.
Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my goooooood.
Oh my god baby We got $ 100,000.
Abner’s screams after winning the World Series of Warzone Solo Yolo game was euphoric. He’s had 11 eliminations, including his last two against Aydan and Jordan “HusKerrs” Thomas, another top earner in Warzone.
“The reaction was more a product of being totally shocked that I actually won the thing,” Abner told The Dallas Morning News. “I had a strategy, but I really didn’t think I was going to win it all.”
The Warzone pros executed a clear meta. Shields with the EM2 rifle and the ghost perk to keep out enemy radars. Abner has prepared for that.
“I went into it and expected people to do that, so I planned my classes after that. I had supplies so that I could still get anesthesia and nades for the shield people, ”Abner said. “I knew there would be a lot of people with shields, but I didn’t expect everyone to do that.”
It wasn’t a Call of Duty League title. It wasn’t even a CDL major. Abner has the second most wins of all players of all time and a world championship ring. For some reason, this Warzone match rivaled the other iconic celebrations of the king.
It was emotional and unexpected. So unexpected that Abner let his girlfriend order cheap champagne at the door while streaming.
“Call of Duty is a team sport, so I was blown away by the fact that I won a solo tournament. Little did I know I was going to be able to win that until I did it, ”Abner said.
Abner followed suit with a $ 50,000 Call of Duty: Vanguard tournament win with his OpTic team the next day. He couldn’t celebrate his Warzone win too much with the competition coming up.
He didn’t really appreciate his performance for days.
His friends helped him with this. His notorious duo partner Matthew “FormaL” Piper had a reaction that made him laugh. Teammate Brandon “Dashy” Otell went back and watched Abner win with him from at least 10 different players.
The Warzone community exploded when the King of Call of Duty overthrew the Warzone pros.
“It was pretty much one and done. I said it was my last dance in Verdansk, ”said Abner. “I will definitely not play Verdansk anymore, but I will probably hop on the new map for a couple of nights in the stream. If it’s really fun, I might play it after the season, we’ll see. “
Maybe Abner will return to Warzone. If he does, it would be unwise to count him out.
