It was a violent holiday weekend in Dallas, with at least six injured and three people dead between shootings.
Dallas police responded to at least five gunshots from 10:30 p.m. to midnight, along with calls of illegal fireworks.

At around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, police were called to a shooting in the 8200 block of Towns Street.
According to the dispatch, five people were shot and three of them died. According to police, the shootings took place where a group was celebrating in Hamilton Park.
The police are still collecting information about the circumstances of the shooting.

Police broke into a shooting at 3700 block on Dixon Ave at around 11:50 PM. called in southeast Dallas
According to police, a large crowd had gathered in a park near the Larry Johnson Recreation Center where some people were shooting off fireworks.
Police said at some point gunshots were fired that resulted in at least four shooting victims being taken to the hospital. Some were brought in by ambulance, others came alone to the surrounding hospitals.
The police are still investigating. The condition of the injured is currently unknown.
Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said Friday he expected officers to be busy over the holiday weekend. He dispatched a special task force to combat ceremonial shots, drunk drivers, street anger, street racers and illegal fireworks calls.

Dallas Police also held a press conference with community leaders on Saturday to discuss issues with violence in the city.
Black and Latin American clergy stood next to Chef Eddie Garcia and City Councilor Casey Thomas and pledged to work with DPD this summer to protect their communities.
“I gather all the men of God together to gather people so we can help turn our communities inside out and bring them back together. Of course we will also work with the police, ”said Rev. Ronald Wright. General Manager of Justice Seekers Texas.
One of her plans includes Dallas Cred, a program to interrupt violence. It is part of the mayor’s task force to reduce crime in targeted Dallas neighborhoods by deploying trained parishioners to “stop the violence” before it escalates.
“The pointless murders resulted in us all banding together. To express all the differences [aside] and say something needs to be done, “said Mar Butler, Dallas CRED program director.
Garcia said the holiday patrols don’t end when Independence Day ends. He plans to increase its presence this summer and work with businesses and other groups to help reduce crime.
“We will use every tool. Both conventional and non-conventional. We will have vigilant officers, but we will also work with corporations and other institutions across our city,” said Chief Garcia.
