A company based in Columbus recently received a coveted award in its industry.

Applied Connective Technologies, based in Parkway Plaza in Columbus, was recently named the winner of the Managed Technology Services Provider Award. The recognition was presented during the 20th annual TAG Convention in Dallas, Texas.

Ed Knott, President of Applied Connective noted that the company was selected from among the members of the Technology Assurance Group (TAG) to receive the award. TAG is an organization of managed technology service providers in the United States and Canada.

“When it comes to something like that, you’re probably a little bit prouder,” said Knott. “That wasn’t something we were looking for. But our colleagues saw something in our organization in terms of success. … The whole team was of course proud of it. “

Applied Connective has been in the business for nearly 18 years and also has offices in Albion and Norfolk. The company deals with all kinds of IT services, noted Knott.

“We provide managed services, support the county government, small business, healthcare, finance and IT services,” he said. “And then we also offer telephone systems and other technology services, such as physical security surveillance, access control, audio / video – we have our hands on everything to do with technology.”

Knott said the company’s goal is to understand customers’ needs and goals so that they can be equipped with the right technology for their needs.

“We really built our company on the Nebraskan values: hard work, integrity and passion for what we do. It is therefore a privilege to be trusted by so many in our region, ”he added.

The award is based on the “ability of a company to show a real mix of technologies that meets all the needs of small and medium-sized businesses,” according to a press release. Applied Connective was selected for its broad offering of managed IT services designed to “maximize customer efficiency, security, productivity and profitability”.

“Applied Connective has done an amazing job helping its customers grow their customers through the use of technology,” said TAG President Brian Suerth in a statement posted. “Ed Knott really differentiated Applied Connective Technologies with the breadth and depth of the solutions. The company’s professional team is committed to the success of its customers and it shows. “

Although the company has three locations, according to Knott, the company serves a rural area, which makes it even more impressive that it received the recognition.

“It was definitely a real achievement to be nominated for such an award from providers in larger metropolitan areas,” said Knott.
