“This partnership is valuable as it gives us additional housing inventory for the women we care for,” said Janet Collinsworth, Founder and Managing Director of the Agape Resource & Assistance Center. “A key component in reducing domestic violence relapse is helping women get back on their feet by providing supportive accommodation and services. Based on the critical foundation of safe, stable housing, our focus on higher-income training and financial literacy empowers survivors. Abuse to take their lives into their own hands and become economically and emotionally self-sustaining. “
Through the housing benefit program Bellevue living rents out Agape Apartments in Bellevue at Spring Creek in Plano. The property management provides up to three percent of the vacant units at 50% of the market price for up to two years. Women are domestic violence survivors, have signed up for agape programs and must commit to at least two case management cases per month.
“We believe in giving back to the community in a meaningful way – and housing is critical to a woman’s ability to recover and heal from trauma,” said Nicholas Residential CEO and President Paul panza. “Our goal is to create a model that will lift women out of poverty and work with nonprofits like Agape to help vulnerable populations.”
By providing subsidized housing Bellevue living helps more women in the Plano Community in need of help and to empower vulnerable women to support them on their path to success. The program currently hosts three women from Agape.
