Big Colorado homebuilder jumps into the hot North Texas housing market with four new communities

A Colorado company, one of the largest home builders in the country, is expanding on a large scale into North Texas.

Century Communities Inc. announced that it is building its first new single family home neighborhoods in southeast Dallas, Forney, Ferris, and northwest Fort Worth. The builder plans to sell homes for as little as $ 200,000.

The four new municipalities will open with more than 900 new apartments in 2022.

“We’ve been waiting for the right time to enter the Dallas Fort Worth market, so it’s exciting to officially announce our first homes here,” said Brian Fogarty, regional president for Century Communities, Texas. “We are excited to offer buyers the lifestyle, convenience and contemporary design they are looking for in a new home today.”

Century Communities’ cheapest North Texas homes will be located in the Middlefield Estates subdivision of Dallas just south of Interstate 20, where 88 homes will be built for as little as $ 200,000.

In Forney’s Overland Grove subdivision, the developer plans to sell more than 700 homes starting at $ 300,000 in the middle.

And in the Sperling Place Farms community in Ferris south of Dallas, Century Communities is planning 78 house prices starting at mid-$ 200,000.

The developer also plans to build 47 homes starting at $ 200,000 northwest of Fort Worth in Springtown.

Century Communities was one of the few top home builders in the United States who did not operate in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

“We expect them to grow rapidly in D-FW and eventually become a top 10 construction company,” said Ted Wilson, director of Dallas-based housing analyst Residential Strategies. “You can use your financial strength to secure positions in the top D-FW sub-markets.”

The Colorado-based company builds in 17 states and over 40 markets in the United States. It sells homes under the Century Communities and Century Complete brands.

In 2020, Century Communities’ revenue grew to $ 3 billion, with sales of nearly 11,000 homes.

Dallas-Fort Worth has been the leader in new home construction for the past few years, with commissioning of around 40% in 2021.

“It was a natural next step for Century Complete to expand into Dallas-Fort Worth,” Greg Huff said in a statement.
