Dallas, Texas, October 25, 2021 – CircleGx, Zyter and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. today announced that they will work together to promote digital equity with broadband infrastructure in Dallas County’s communities to increase accessibility for use in education, Improve healthcare and emergency services, businesses, and more. Circle Gx will deploy a fixed broadband wireless network called the Planted Circle in the communities of Dallas County, Texas. The network will initially begin providing more than 20 LTE Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) cell sites powered by Qualcomm® RAN platforms and will include smart lighting, with outdoor and indoor CPEs with a Qualcomm® Fixed Wireless Access Platform, with a possible path to 5G in the future. Funding for this project is provided by CircleGx.
In the “Planted Circle” project, Zyter will provide, manage, monitor and operate the city’s private wireless fixed network on the Zyter SmartSpaces ™ Internet of Things (IoT) platform. As a key partner of Qualcomm Technologies to the Qualcomm® Smart Cities Accelerator Program ecosystem, the SmartSpaces platform breaks information silos by integrating and consolidating data from IoT devices and applications in one seamless interface.
Digital smart lights and smart city sensor platforms, powered by Juganu, are equipped with Qualcomm Technologies LTE infrastructure components that turn any light into a mobile hotspot, so Dallas citizens can have a strong data connection virtually anywhere in the community. In addition, the smart lights are designed with citizens in mind. For example, each light changes color during an emergency call so that the lights can guide the first aiders to the exact location of the person in need.
More than 42 million American households are without internet access, according to the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank, and the pandemic has put the focus on the need for accelerated digital transformation and increasing digital justice in communities. Next Generation Network Facilitation will benefit Dallas County’s consumers and businesses by helping provide affordable and accessible broadband services.
Through the Qualcomm® IoT Services Suite, Qualcomm Technologies has acted as a catalyst to enable accessibility and ease of deployment for cities and towns looking to adopt end-to-end intelligent solutions to digitally transform cities and deliver critical infrastructures for connectivity. Whether it’s urban infrastructure, education, hybrid work environments, healthcare or transportation, connectivity is vital and CircleGx, Zyter and Qualcomm Technologies are committed to supporting the need for connectivity in the communities of Dallas and other areas across the country.
