“The design process focused on conceptual clarity, atmospheric spatial experiences and sensual materiality: It is a manifest that embodies the core values of our office,” remarks Aristides Dallas Architects on the design of “casa 55”. the practice, with offices both in athens and on the island of tinos, has developed its first international project taking into account the unique characteristics of the surrounding area. The distinction between indoor and outdoor areas becomes immaterial and seamless as an architectural promenade runs through the entire residence. As a massive presence in the landscape, the natural limestone pedestal is hollowed out to define interior spaces. at the same time the expressive materiality of the concrete Slabs and the slim pilotis help improve the floating quality of the structure.
