Construction to start next month on two North Dallas towers

The developers broke ground in May for one of the largest real estate projects in Dallas since the pandemic began.

Lincoln Property Co. is building two high-rise buildings in the Preston Center district of north Dallas.

The Douglas Avenue project south of Northwest Highway will include a 225,000 square foot office building and a separate tower of 128 luxury apartment buildings.

The land is owned by St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

Dallas’ Sewell Automotive Cos. occupies approximately 26,500 square feet in the 12-story office tower, and Lincoln Property will move its headquarters to nearly 59,000 square feet in the building.

“This project will be a world class development designed to bring a dynamic, mixed-use offering to the area,” said John Walter, executive vice president of Lincoln Property, in a statement. “We are pleased that Sewell Automotive Cos. as the anchor tenant is moving its headquarters to campus, and we are encouraged by the great interest we have seen from other potential tenants so far. “

In addition to the office and residential towers, the 8111 Douglas project will include a restaurant on the ground floor with a terrace. There will also be more than an acre of outdoor green space.

Dallas architect HKS designed the project, which will take over a year to complete.

Robbie Baty and Bill McClung with Cushman & Wakefield represented Sewell Automotive in the leasing negotiations.

RBC Real Estate Capital has provided $ 132 million for the project, according to the county.
