Daddy’s Chicken Shack Seeks Growth and Innovation Through Brand Repositioning

Fried Chicken Startup selects a Dallas-based, award-winning architecture and design firm to build a national chain of franchise locations

Daddy's Chicken Shack seeks growth and innovation by repositioning the brandHouston, TX (RestaurantNews.com) Daddy’s Chicken Shack has partnered with global architecture and design firm Harrison to leverage its expertise in scaling a brand for growth and leveraging innovation to engage diners.

Daddy’s Chicken Shack started in 2018 as a small stand at Smorgasburg, the weekly food festival in downtown Los Angeles. Following the success and passion of co-owners Pace Webb and Chris Georgalas, the duo opened Daddy’s Chicken Shack’s first location in Pasadena, California. Now, Webb and Georgalas are ready to share accessible, authentic, and inspired creations with more chicken lovers, which is why they enlisted Harrison’s help.

Harrison uses his strategic holistic approach and storytelling process to develop the design to be scalable in the US community near downtown Houston. With a new branding strategy and concept and design development, Harrison has geared Daddy’s Chicken Shack to growth, including meals to eat, kiosk ordering, a walk-through pickup window, and a new drive-thru “online pickup lane”. “Prototype construction.

“Our brand’s history is steeped in history and humble beginnings,” said Webb. “Daddy’s Chicken Shack comes from a number of people who enjoy hosting guests and feeding them well, and we know Harrison will transfer those values to any place or market we enter as we continue to grow.”

The underlying concept of Daddy’s Chicken Shack is American Southern with a touch of Asian, as Webb is from Texas and Georgalas is half Japanese. Georgalas and Webb are a married couple, and Webb’s dad, Bob Webb, who designed the logo, continues to support the growing brand as creative director, ensuring that authenticity and branding remain strong and consistent. Bob’s original works of art are on display in the dining room.

The cornerstones of the new restaurant design are southern hospitality, refined self-confidence, reuse and resilience, and natural imperfection. All design elements have a meaning and a story. For example, the murals around the restaurants will honor Webbs Farm in Brenham, Texas.

The new restaurant in Houston, Texas will also incorporate multiple ordering methods that provide a seamless customer experience, whether they order online, via a mobile device, or in person. The restaurant will feature app innovations and a pickup lane, an inviting veranda with outdoor kiosks, veranda swing-inspired benches, as well as indoor cabins and banquet seating.

“We’re excited to be working with Pace and Chris to expand Daddy’s Chicken Shack and bring his unique brand story to life,” said Harrison Design Director Sarah Jenkinson. “The familiarity of soothing nostalgia, South American design and Japanese minimalism, wrapped in a warm environment, gives this brand such a unique brand identity and design language. We can’t wait to see what the Houston community thinks of the new restaurant! “

Harrison creates engaging brands and creates meaningful experiences that bring a brand’s strategy, interior, architecture, packaging, and digital world to life. While designing the brand architecture, Harrison uses creative storytelling, in-depth market research, business strategy workshops, and more to connect the physical space with the story of the concept.
