Dallas’ 2021 Turtle Creek home tour includes exclusive Perot reception
One of Dallas’ funniest home tours is back, but unfortunately only in virtual form: the 2021 version of the Turtle Creek Association’s annual home tour will be virtual for the second year in a row, this time hosted by local TV personality Ron Corning.
Called “Life Elevated”, the 20th Anniversary Tour of Homes will give virtual visitors a glimpse into some of the most beautiful, glamorous and fascinating high-rise residences down the corridor described in a publication. The tour will share personal stories, architectural anecdotes, and insights into art, heirlooms, and unique design.
While the pandemic rules out any opportunity to personally march through these fancy residences and search the mantelpiece for dust, this year’s tour comes with an exclusive reception at the Perot Companies headquarters in Dallas. Details are below.
Houses
There are five residences on the tour with the following buildings and units:
-
A contemporary unit at The Claridge with an open, contemporary feel that houses the owners’ furniture and art collected during their frequent worldwide travels
-
A mid-century modern at 3525 Turtle Creek Blvd. designed by Harwell Hamilton Harris in 1957. The current owners have restored the unit, including all wooden panels and wooden double doors, which have been restored to their original glory
-
The “Grand Dame” of Turtle Creek at 3525, an eclectic charmer with rich, layered interior design highlighting a range of eras and movements, designed by interior designer Josh Pickering who created harmony with different styles, contrasting textures and colors
-
A contemporary contemporary at The Warrington at 3831 Turtle Creek Blvd., with flexible open spaces that blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, with a streamlined contemporary feel and breathtaking views of the park and skyline.
The tour also includes the iconic residence at The Warrington of the late Judy Pittman, known as “the Queen of Turtle Creek Boulevard”, whose family gave TCA one final glimpse into their two-story penthouse, a celebration of traditional design elements that shares their great appreciation for Antiques, classical art, symmetry and design steeped in history. This part of the show is going to celebrate her and the upscale lifestyle she brought to the hallway.
reception
In addition to the tour, there will be an exclusive benefit reception at the Perot Companies headquarters in Dallas on Saturday, October 9th, from 7pm to 10pm for unprecedented access to the Perot Legacy Hall, which houses the remarkable collection of historical artifacts by H. Ross Perot . This private collection includes items from Perot’s childhood and wall after wall of faces and unforgettable moments in great surroundings.
This event is the featured fundraiser for the Turtle Creek Association, the nonprofit whose mission is to be the primary guardian, advocate, and campaigner for the maintenance, improvement, and protection of the Turtle Creek Corridor.
