CHICAGO (AP) – Dallas assistant Mikey Varas was hired as the head coach of the US U20 national team on Friday.
Varas served as Luchi Gonzalez’s assistant at the Major League Soccer Club for three years.
The USA are trying to qualify for the U20 World Cup in 2023. The 2021 tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
