Applicants have until August 27 to submit their information to the board for review. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a US citizen, have no criminal record, have lived in Texas for one year and six months in District 1, which includes North Dallas and Richardson.
Selected applicants will then be interviewed at one or more special board meetings between August 30 and September 24.
The board plans to announce the appointment at its October 5th meeting. The seat is up for election in May.
