Dallas Food Competition & Flavor Fest Will Feature Pig
DALLAS, Texas, October 4, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Foodies from across the nation are turning their attention (and taste buds) to Dallas for the world’s largest food sports event where they have the chance to “stand out” the World Food Championships (WFC), thanks to its newest barbecue sponsor, La Lechonera Products.
This multi-day competition plus taste festival features a delicious experience called the “BBQ Ranch,” where Pitmasters light thousands of pounds of grilled food for contestants to enjoy and enjoy at the WFC’s newest location – Fair Park in Dallas.
La Lechonera –– a Spanish marinade company –– has teamed up with 2 Cubanos BBQ & Catering Company of Richmond, Texas to heat the BBQ Ranch Zone with several tricks, including cooking a whole pig with La Caja China and his Pour in the original Mojo Criollo marinade. A WFC General Admission Ticket (available here) is all you need to unlock the many tastes and flavors of this BBQ party.
“La Lechonera has been bringing authentic flavors from our home in Miami, Florida to homes in the United States for over 50 years. We look forward to working with the WFC again to showcase the unique and creative recipes from the participating chefs. Together with our original Mojo Criollo and various marinades, we are proud to present one of our newest products; Mojo dry grater. We can’t wait to see and try the masterworks of the miners, ”said Luis Mejuto, Jr. Vice President of La Lechonera Products.
As the Official WFC Barbecue Sponsor 2021, La Lechonera will also challenge WFC competitors advancing into the top ten round of the category to refine their new product – La Lechonera Mojo Dry Rub. This barbecue rub, a dry version of their original Mojo Criollo marinade, is an original blend of aromatic and unique spices that add a fresh and robust taste to any protein with notes of garlic, onion and secret spices.
The Pitmaster who gets the highest tournament score while pouring the Mojo Dry Rub is crowned World Barbecue Champion and receives a place in the WFC’s $ 100,000 Final Table Challenge.
“La Lechonera was a great company and a friend of the food sports industry as it gave aspiring and amateur cooks many opportunities to qualify for our main event during COVID with their online recipe competitions,” said Mike McCloud, President and CEO of the WFC. “Now that our chefs have tried and practiced their marinades, we are delighted to introduce one of La Lechonera’s new products at our main event.”
Stay tuned for more partnership announcements on the upcoming Main Event, which will be held for the first time at Fair Park in Dallas from November 5-9. Ticket options for the Gourmet Festival are available at worldfoodchampionships.com/tickets.

About the World Food Championships
The World Food Championships (WFC) are the world’s largest food competition. This multi-day live culinary event competition features some of the world’s best chefs competing for food, fame and fortune in 10 categories (Bacon, Barbecue, Burger, Cook, Dessert, Recipe, Sandwich, Seafood, Soup and Steak). In 2019, more than 450 culinary teams from 11 countries and 42 American states competed in the WFC Main Event. In August, the 10 category champions battled it out for a $ 100,000 bonus that would determine a new world food champion in a TV special called The Final Table: Indianapolis. While contestants must earn their way into the WFC by winning a Golden Ticket in an earlier competition, potential judges are welcome to take the WFC’s online certification course, which explains the EAT ™ methodology. Certified judges request and then receive free places at the next planned WFC event. Click here to learn more about certification.
