Dallas-Fort Worth hits triple-digit temperatures for the first time this year

Dallas-Fort Worth finally hit 100 degrees for the first time this year, but there are many more hot days ahead.

The three-digit numbers were recorded shortly after 3 p.m. at DFW International Airport on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Dry weather is expected this week, with the exception of a few showers south and east of Dallas-Fort Worth on Wednesday, NBC5 reported. There is also a chance of some showers appearing in the south and east of the area by Wednesday.

As temperatures rise, people should be aware of symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
