Dallas Restaurant Offering Free Fried Chicken with COVID Vaccine – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Williams Chicken, a Dallas-based fried chicken chain, said some of their locations will host pop-up COVID-19 sites and give a free meal to anyone who receives the vaccine at their restaurants.
The first event will take place on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm at the Williams Chicken on the 2600 Block of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard in Dallas.
The vaccination sites will begin with three Williams Chicken locations, said Hiawatha Williams, the founder and CEO of the fried chicken chain.
“I told my team that I wanted to reach out to our customers and people who live in underserved communities,” Williams said in a press release. “I worry that people of color, the elderly, our teenagers and young adults may not have convenient access to the picture or not have enough information to make a decision.”
Anyone can go to the restaurant for the vaccine and a free meal, but appointments are also available online.
The vaccination sites are being created in collaboration with The Catalyst Health Network and Rev. Richie Butler, founder of Project Unity.
