Delilah brings a star-quality supper club to Wynn Las Vegas

Look! Is that Justin Bieber? And over there, is that Shawn Mendes and Kendall Jenner?

It certainly could be as Delilah, the swanky new supper club at Wynn Las Vegas, is expecting to draw from the same Celebrity A-list that visits its West Hollywood sister-original.

You can watch – and you definitely should – but don’t pull out your camera or cell phone to capture the moment; Photos are strictly prohibited, says Todd-Avery Lenahan, the design genius behind Delilah.

“We’re going to have a lot of famous celebrities for dinner, but nothing is announced in advance and they literally have to sing for their dinner,” says Lenahan. “That’s part of the deal. It will be a deal. “

A number of celebs have hosted private preview parties (guests are said to have included Drake and Kim Kardashian). Haven’t seen these photos online yet? That’s the point, says Lenahan. Delilah wants to be a private escape for everyone.

The cocktail lounge and restaurant combo, which opens to the public on July 14, is the most opulent venue in Las Vegas in years, a stylized Technicolor throwback to vintage Vegas that also hints at Wynn’s future.

Where to put your attention while secretly spying on others in the room? On Delilah’s curved double stairs, two-story brass palms, fabric-covered sofas from Hermès and an ivory-colored cabaret stage. The Art Deco-style Delilah could double as a Lucy and Desi movie set.

Lenahan, President and Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design & Development, says his design goal for Delilah was to create something intimate and grand that captures the glamor of Las Vegas in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s.

“That was the golden age of Vegas,” says Lenahan, “a time when the stars mingled with the audience in restaurants and lounges because shows didn’t have the formality of today’s big productions. I wanted Delilah to bring that personal feeling back. “

The space feels like it’s been picked from a time capsule, punctuated by archived Vegas photos, handcrafted leather, exquisite frieze murals, and burl wood that encases the entire space – almost all specially designed so that it will be the first and only time You saw it.

“As you walk down the stairs to the dining room, I wanted you to feel like a movie star to be seen and recognized by everyone,” says Lenahan, a 1990 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Architecture and a former partner with Walt Disney Imagineering.

“Then you come to those 21 foot tall brass palms and look for the best table in the room, but you won’t find it because I designed each table to be an A table. No matter where you sit, it was about making you feel like the star. “

To do justice to the grandeur of the dining room, Delilah recruited Joshua Smith, 41, a veteran from Church & State in Los Angeles and the Bardot Brasserie in Las Vegas to create a menu that spanned everything from fried chicken to Wagyu beef wellington Alaska is enough with baked strawberry cake, plus preparations at the table and large plates to share. The menu is not fussy. The “smart casual” dress code does not apply either. An ultra-private dining room is hidden behind doors that lead to a show kitchen.

“Delilah is not a night club; it’s a supper club, a launch pad for the evening, ”says Lenahan.

About the five-piece band, the showgirls, the spontaneous mega-star entertainment, Lenahan says: “It’s all designed to feel like an old Vegas showroom that blends into the background so that the spotlight is on you. “

Delilah’s debut also marks a pivotal point for Wynn.

“Vegas feels massive. We want Delilah to feel intimate. And we’ll come back to that throughout the resort, ”says Lenahan. “It’s time we evolved into Wynn 2.0 and moved away from anything with a cohesive look. And I want people to feel important. “
