DeMarcus Lawrence Underwent Foot Surgery Thursday – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Lawrence, who broke his foot in training on Wednesday, had an operation on Thursday.
Head coach Mike McCarthy says the two-time professional bowlers will miss a lot of time.
“You hate to see one of your boys injured like that but it only gives the other players a chance,” said McCarthy.
Lawrence’s teammates say they know they need to step up while he’s away.
“We just have to keep fighting adversity, it’s something every team goes through every year,” said linebacker Jaylon Smith. “DeMarcus, he is strong, he has been through a lot, he will recover.”
The cowboys’ assistant coach, Leon Lett, was also operated on on Thursday.

Lett was injured during a practice drill Wednesday and will not be traveling with the team when they play the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
