Developer Transwestern eyes new McKinney industrial park
Commercial real estate company Transwestern is planning another industrial park – this time in McKinney. Transwestern plans to develop three buildings in its new McKinney Industrial Business Park on Harry McKillop Boulevard near McKinney Airport.
The proposed industrial campus will cover more than 480,000 square feet and is valued at more than $ 18.5 million, according to planning documents filed with the state.
Dallas architect O’Brien & Associates is designing the McKinney project, which construction is slated to begin next year.
The McKinney development is one of two North Texas industrial parks that Transwestern recently submitted plans for.
In North Fort Worth, Transwestern is planning a three-building business park on East Bailey Boswell Road near Interstate 35W.
The industrial project will cover more than 1 million square meters. The largest of the buildings proposed under development will be over 500,000 square feet, and the overall project will cost more than $ 42 million according to draft plans.
Transwestern has expanded its industrial development activities in North Texas.
In 2020, the commercial real estate company hired a senior executive from competitor Trammell Crow Co. – Denton Walker – to focus on industrial development.
The D-FW area is the fastest growing industrial and sales market in the country with more than 30 million square meters of storage space under construction by the middle of the year.
