Eggholic will be bringing vegetarian Indian street food to the Metroplex next month
Eggholic, an Indian street food chain that serves a variety of egg-based dishes, many vegetarian, opens in Irving next month. The chain, which was first founded in Chicago by Indian cousins Bhagyesh and Lay Patel, will open at 7705 North MacArthur Boulvard in mid-September. The restaurant was inspired by the family’s weekly “egg nights” in India and serves dishes similar to those on Indian street carts, such as cheese katori (boiled egg filled with spices and cheese), lachko (green peppers with cheese and runny eggs), grilled egg sandwiches , Egg-based omelets and curries.
Zalat brings pizzas with photo topping to Irving
Zalat Pizza, the Dallas-based chain known for its late-night and creative cakes, has opened its first location in Addison. The pizzeria at 4835 North O’Connor Road opened on Monday, August 23, and serves homemade take-away pizzas only through Zalat’s website and third-party delivery apps.
Founded in 2015 on Fitzhugh Avenue, Zalat is known for its creative variations of pies made with ingredients like Nashville Hot Chicken, Elote, and Sriracha Ranch Sauce. The Irving site is open seven days a week until midnight.
TikTok star Larray’s new ghost kitchen now serves loaded mac and cheese in Dallas
Larray, the TikTok Hype House member with more than 25 million subscribers, is opening a delivery restaurant in Dallas this week, according to Business Insider. Larray’s Loaded Mac serves seven types of the pasta dish, including a pizza-inspired version called “That Girl” and a Mac with pulled pork, fritos, and onions. Guests can order through delivery apps like Grubhub, DoorDash, and Postmates, or directly through the Loaded Mac website.
Larray, whose full name is Larri Merritt, told Insider that his grandmother, a home cook, inspired him to get into the virtual restaurant business. He also said he plans to post a Youtube reaction video of his grandmother trying Loaded Mac’s version of her signature dish.
