Elizabeth Eakins steps down, a flurry of promotions at Kravet, and more

This month, members of the design world rise as a series of promotions flood the industry. Read on for the monthly summary of Business of Home arrivals and departures in design, manufacturing, media, and more.

Kravet recently announced and appointed a number of executive level promotions Alana Moskowitz as Vice President for Communication, Alice Guercio as Senior Vice President of Product Development Coordination, Antionette Ardizzone as Senior Vice President for Customer Service and Education, Baliji Kandru as Vice President of Oracle Development, Carol Price as Vice President for Finance, Danielle St. George as Vice President Product Development, Eugene Cordi as Senior Vice President for Infrastructure and Security, Karen Keating as Vice President of Product Development and Kyle Cory as Senior Vice President for Flooring. In addition, the brand has gained new employees Allie Federle active as an employee for public relations and events.

At Sattler Outdura, Mariia Elizarova was promoted to Senior Designer for all Outdura leisure furniture and Sattler umbrella fabrics. Elizarova has been on the Outdura team since 2015 and brings her skills as an artist and designer with a focus on woven textiles, fashion, prints, patterns and illustration with a bachelor’s degree in applied arts from Saint Petersburg State University in Russia and a master’s in textile art and art -design from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture in Helsinki, Finland.

Natural stone and tile resource Walker Zanger appointed Michael Castro to general director. Castro comes to the company with more than 25 years of industry experience, most recently as sales director for North America at Lapitec Spa and field service manager for architecture at Stone Source.

Moore & Giles welcomed Erica Kerns as the company’s new Vice President of Merchandising. Kerns joins this role with more than 15 years of experience in various leadership roles at the J.Crew fashion brand and will bring those skills to her new role as she provides the creative vision and direction for the Moore & Giles leather collections.

Design & architecture

Premier welcomed Robin Bellerby as the new Senior Vice President of Architecture of the full-service company based in Dallas. Bellerby previously worked as a Principal at Humphreys & Partners Architects, where she led the production and construction of high profile projects from design development to completion.

Nelson Worldwide has brought Rachael Lewis as regional design director in the company’s Seattle office. In the new position, Lewis will build on more than two decades of design, branding and team management experience in the hospitality industry.

Perkins & Will has appointed Robert Clemens as the new Director of Operations and Associate Principal in the company’s New York studio. Clemens has over 22 years of industry experience as a licensed architect in the New York business community and has led teams on major projects including building a performing arts center in a WPA building in Oklahoma City.

The design office WATG has the appointment of Jeremy Heyes as managing director of the London office. Heyes joined the WATG team in 1992 and is currently in his third term on the company’s board of directors.

Washington, DC-based GrizForm Design Architects has welcomed three new team members to the company. Getting started as a project architect is Joseph McKenleywho completed his bachelor’s degree in architecture in his hometown of Kingston, Jamaica before receiving his master’s degree in architecture from the University of Maryland, where he continues to teach design studios. Both Olivia Turner and Stephanie Sargon joined the company as project designers – Turner has previously worked on apartment buildings, restaurants, workplaces, upscale college dormitories, and senior housing projects, while Sargon brings seven years of experience in residential and commercial hospitality design to New York.

Los Angeles-based company XTEN Architecture has sponsored Daniel Feig at the associate level. A graduate of UC Berkeley and UCLA, Feig joined the company in 2015 and will lead project management, marketing and business development initiatives in his new role.

Salt Lake City-based architecture and design firm MHTN Architects recently promoted 17 team members across the company to Associate, Director, Associate Principal, Principal Board Director and Vice President. At the senior and executive levels, these included appointments Mark Peterson as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Scott later and Clifford Curtis as headmaster for K-12 educational projects, Heather Knighton as a client for marketing, Ryan Berry as a principal for technology environments, Randall Knight as site manager and project manager and Ryan Wallace as a client for planning, landscape architecture and local authority.

Doug Olson has assumed a new role as President and Chief Media Officer at A360Media – a company that owns and operates celebrities and health and fitness media titles such as US Weekly and Men’s Journal – after recently leaving his role as President of Meredith Magazines & GM National Media Group Has. where he worked for over 20 years. The news comes after the magazine giant was acquired by media publishing group Dotdash earlier this month for $ 2.7 billion. Both companies will be merged under the new common name Dotdash Meredith.

Leslie Clagett has taken the helm of Kitchen & Bath Business as the new editor-in-chief of the title. Clagett most recently served as Content Manager for Hausman LLC and previously held editorial positions as Editor-in-Chief of Kitchen & Bath and founder of Kbculture.com.

Elizabeth Eakins announced her departure from Holland & Sherry, where she was the creative director of the carpet and textile business she founded, Elizabeth Eakins Inc., founded in 1978 and acquired by H&S in 2018. Good’s Home Furnishings has won industry veterans Kevin Bowman as the next president and CEO of the luxury furniture retailer. The High Point Market Authority has welcomed Alex Shuford III as chairman of his board of directors.
