Atlanta, GA. – ASUN released its all-academic team for women’s football on Wednesday afternoon, which consists of student athletes who make an impact in the classroom and on the pitch. In Central Arkansas, two players were recognized for their dedication to being academically and athletically great, Emma Hawkins and Anika Sultan.

“With a team that ended at the top of our league and historically approaching a GPA of 3.5, there is no doubt we have a lot of deserving student athletes,” said head coach Jeremy Bishop of the nod. “Congratulations to Ani and Emma for being All-Academic. Their efforts in the field and in the classroom are remarkable.”

Hawkins received recognition after achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.42 while majoring in exercise science. The native Forney, Texas, also led ASUN in the regular season in goals (13), assists (7) and points (33) and approached almost every offensive record at UCA for both a single season and his career.

Anika Sultan makes the list after an impeccable record in the classroom. Upon returning to UCA to begin a Masters program, Sultan retained a 4.0 GPA to complete a Masters in Business Administration. The Dallas, Texas native has helped lead a midfield that has produced one of the best-scoring goals in ASUN while also conceding seven goals.
