HGTV’s Mike and Jenn Todryk buy a brewery in Allen with a dark past
Dallas-based reality TV stars Mike and Jen Todyrick, who run the HGTV series No Demo Reno, have acquired an Allen brewery that once belonged to an accused murderer. The couple bought the Nine Band Brewery to redesign the facility and incorporate a coffee roaster on the property, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Todryks also own the sArmor Coffee Co. in Allen.
Nine Band was previously owned by Keith Todd Ashley, who was charged with capital murder by a Dallas County grand jury in April. According to police, Ashley is said to have befriended a 62-year-old Carrollton man named James Seegan in order to gain control of his finances. Following the alleged shooting of Seegan in February 2020, police claim that Ashley staged the crime scene to create the appearance that the man died of suicide. The officers apparently found aspects of the crime scene suspicious, including the fact that Seegan, who was right-handed, was holding the gun in his left hand. Ashley was also charged with federal fraud.
Mike Todryk told the DMN he knew nothing about the history of the brewery – he just saw the property as a good business opportunity.
