Ex-Northwood Club pro Elliott makes ace
Bob Elliott, who was head pro at the Northwood Club for 36 years, made his first hole in one on the course on Tuesday. Elliott punched a 6-iron from 180 yards on No. 12. His playing partner said it never left the flag, and Elliott said he didn’t see it look over the hole.
While the ace was Elliott’s first ace at Northwood, it was his sixth overall, which gave him family rights over his wife Betty, who made five aces at Northwood.
“I’ve played more golf at Northwood in the past five years than in all of my 36 years,” said Elliott, who retired in 2015 and remains an honorary member of the club.
