Fourth of July fun in Gaston

Would you like to celebrate July 4th? Gaston County got you covered.

Here are some places to enjoy fireworks shows, music, and other American Independence Day celebrations.

Brief history lesson first: On July 4th, 1776, the Second Continental Congress unanimously passed the Declaration of Independence, which proclaimed the separation of the colonies from Great Britain.

Gastonia

Gastonia is holding a July 4th celebration in the Rotary Pavilion with fireworks from 9:30 p.m. Sunday 4th July.

A fireworks display marks the grand finale of the city festival, but before that, visitors can also expect food trucks, a beer garden, dealers, entertainment and music.

Here is a detailed list for each activity.

Thirty Hoses: Extensive setlist includes everything from the 70s and 80s from classic rock, country, Americana and current hits. The group performs from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Diamond River Band: specialized in music for decades with an emphasis on Class Rock, Motown, Country and current hits. The group will perform from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., including patriotic music during the fireworks.

Belmont

Belmont is holding its Red-White-Belmont Celebration from 6:00 p.m. Sunday 4th July until 10:30 p.m.

The fireworks show begins at 10 p.m. on South Main St.

The celebration begins with music from DJ Eric Bowman from 6pm to 7pm, followed by a concert performance by The Breakfast Club from 7pm to 10pm

Koenigsberg

Kings Mountain is hosting its Red, White and Boom Celebration in Patriot Park on Saturday, July 3rd from 6pm to 9pm.

Two events take place between Patriot Park and Deal Park Walking Track, which are five kilometers apart.

Patriot Park features food trucks, inflatables, a DJ, live music from the Cleveland County’s ACE party band, and a laser light show.

A scene from “Liberty Mountain – The Revolutionary Drama about the Battle of Kings Mountain,” written by Bob Inman, is performed.

The laser light show starts at 9:45 p.m.

At 9:45 p.m., fireworks will be shown on the Deal Park Walking Track behind the YMCA with music synced to your radio at 101.1 FM.

Mount Holly

Mount Holly is hosting a July 4th celebration Thursday, July 1st, from 6pm to 10pm.

Coming Up Brass will perform in downtown Mount Holly on South Main Street.

Mount Holly will post the full list of all food trucks and vendors on its website and Facebook page the week of the event.

Cherryville

Cherryville will celebrate its Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 2nd, from 6pm to 10pm

The celebration includes food, activities and fireworks at 300 East Main Street.

Cramerton

The Independence Day celebration will take place on Saturday, July 3, at the Centennial Center from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy music by the Carolina Soul Band and face paint by Hamm It Up in downtown Cramerton on the riverside.

The fireworks will start after 9 p.m.

Dallas

Dallas will celebrate July 4th at Cloninger Park from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., followed by fireworks between 9:20 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Guests can expect Sunset Slush with slushies and Anna’s Sweet Treats with funnel cake among other fried foods.

Those present bring a lawn. Fast Vintage will be performing in the park.
