Free Food In Dallas County In Honor Of 20 Year Anniversary Of 9/11 | Raccoon Valley Radio

As the nation remembers the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks, local businesses are making their own special memories.

The Perry Fire Department will fly a large American flag along Highway 141 outside Hy-Vee, and other first responder groups have been invited to display their vehicles in the parking lot as well.

Also, Perry Hy-Vee is offering a free dine-in breakfast to all firefighters, cops, paramedics, veterans, and active military personnel from 9 a.m., and Hy-Vee will be hosting a BBQ night with free burgers for these also members until 2 p.m.

Big Al’s BBQ will also host a free meal in honor of the fallen heroes and their families in Adel and West Des Moines. All law enforcement agencies, fire departments, first responders, veterans and current military personnel and their families are invited to a free buffet from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.

All Big Al locations accept cash or credit card donations through September 30th, which will benefit the September 11th Victims Compensation Fund and the Wounded Warrior Project.
