Frozen custard chain cements Dallas presence with second location

Creamy, frozen goodies move to North Dallas with a new location on Andy’s Frozen Custard: The Missouri-based chain is opening a location at 6711 Arapaho Rd. In central Hillcrest village.

According to a press release, it will open in December.

Andy’s Frozen Custard was founded in Osage Beach, Missouri in 1986 by John and Carol Kuntz and named after their son.

This includes 17 locations in the DFW area, from Frisco to Fort Worth, many of them in the suburbs; In fact, this will be only the second location in Dallas, the first in Lake Highlands, where it opened in 2017.

Andy’s is known for its frozen custard treats, which combine frozen custard with a variety of toppings. The menu includes 10 types of concrete such as the butter pecan concrete with frozen custard, butterscotch and pecans; the James Brownie Funky Jackhammer with frozen custard, peanut butter, brownies, and hot fudge; and the Choc-O-Rocko Concrete with frozen chocolate pudding, almonds and marshmallow.

They also make sundaes, banana splits, shakes, and floats.

Staff are focused on serving within 90 seconds or less of ordering, and each location has bright lights, well-lit parking spaces, and comfortable benches. Customers can download a no-touch payment app and join a loyalty club for free concrete after their first visit.

Andy’s new store opening director, Dillon VanWinkle, said in a statement that Andy’s and Dallas are “a perfect match” because the custard chain and the city both care about hometown values, good food and partying.
