Galleria pop up features Dallas brands you didn’t know were based here

Dallas-based Fashion Group International, the nonprofit’s largest chapter outside of New York, is hosting a weekend pop-up shop at Galleria Dallas on December 3rd and 4th.

It’s an opportunity to see a dozen of the innovative brands based here in one place. Some are newer companies and some are sold by large retailers. Many sell directly to consumers online or run a local boutique. A portion of the revenue goes to the FGI Dallas Foundation, which awards grants to fashion design and merchandising students in North Texas.

FGI Regional Director Nerissa Von Helpenstill said the partnership with the Galleria “allows us to showcase both emerging brands and long-standing member companies in a way that helps us fund major grants in the fashion industry.”

The FGI holiday pop-up opens this Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on level 1 near Bachendorf.

The local boutiques, designers and services featured in the shop are:

Daniela Bell Lashes offers cruelty-free mink eyelashes and eyelash accessories.

DeadSoxy is a brand of socks made with patented technology that protects them from slipping off.

Finley shirts are shirts for women with feminine, crisp, tailor-made and fun styles. Founder Finley Moll is also the organizer of the pop-up.

Harkensback, a lifestyle clothing store in the Bishop Arts District that focuses on sustainability and seeks to evoke vibes, travel, cool 70s and urban noir.

Elevated Orbit sells positive news t-shirts, tanks, note cards, and more.

Kathy Fielder says it is a retailer of women’s clothing, accessories, and lifestyle items at affordable prices, including Tiffany Moon candles.

Martini Consignment will pop up both contemporary luxury brands and vintage clothing and accessories.

SEPT with Ferrah offers styles by the eco-luxury designer.

Status is a collection of ready-to-wear clothing that ranges from casual to semi-formal, all in different silhouettes and textures.

Susan Posnick Cosmetics is a cruelty-free, gluten-free line of natural make-up that is combined with sun protection.

Tarliza Schall creates versatile pieces with chic graphic patterns that are handcrafted in Brazil.

Valerie Garmino makes a luxury statement piece brand whose goal is to empower women.

If it looks like the Galleria has stepped up its marketing, it is.

Fort Worth-based Trademark Property Co., which manages the Galleria and other malls, added a Vice President of Experience in early 2020 and hired Chuck Steelman, who had spent 16 years with Dallas-based Neiman Marcus where he was a corporate Special event manager.
