Get involved with these volunteer opportunities in D-FW

2021 Mayor of Dallas Back to School Fair

Fair Park, 3809 Grand Ave., Dallas

Help Dallas children start their school year off to a successful start by volunteering for the 25th Annual Back-to-School Event on Friday. Volunteer shifts are available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Current needs range from greeters and on-site check-in to the distribution of school supplies and assistants for drinking stations.

Note: The show includes a drive-through portion from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a walk-up only option from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All volunteer positions will be outside. To sign up, go to mayorsbacktoschoolfair.com/volunteer.

Network of Community Ministries

Pet Food Pantry: Food donations are solicited for DAS’s new public pet food pantry, a pop-up service that distributes food to pet owners in need across Dallas. Volunteers help with the preparation, transport and distribution of pet food.

Main Shelter: There are numerous ways to volunteer at one of the largest urban animal shelters in the country, including walking / walking dogs, helping with cat and dog socialization, marketing, and pet adoption customer service.
