For everyone in Houston, Galveston is a haven just a 45-minute drive away. For those living a little further afield, like Dallas, it’s roughly four hours if you don’t get caught in the epic growl of Houston rush hour.
What I want to say is that Galveston is a great choice if you are looking for a home on or near the beach that is accessible by car.
This town went through the wringers, that’s for sure. Hurricanes devastated this Gulf Coast city, but that didn’t stop Galveston in the least. With a treasure trove of historic architecture, fabulous seafront area, and some really fun beaches, you’re sure to fall in love with Galveston and this week’s Splurge and Steal!
