Harry Styles requiring masks and proof of vaccination or negative test at Dallas show
Harry Styles was the last to announce health restrictions for fans on his tour, which included a stop in Dallas by requiring masks along with proof of vaccination or a negative test for participants.
The 27-year-old singer will play the American Airlines Center on September 11th as part of his “Love On Tour”. His first stop for the next month is Las Vegas.
Ticket holders with negative test results must have received them within 48 hours of entering the show.
American Airlines Center staff will also be wearing masks and will be required to provide the same health information, tour operator Live Nation said in a statement.
Showing proof of vaccination or a negative test is fast becoming the standard for shows and festivals across the country. The Austin City Limits music festival introduced similar rules last week.
Live Nation announced earlier this month that it will require proof of vaccination or negative testing from participants at locations it controls in the United States beginning October 4th. Texas state law prohibits companies from requiring proof of vaccination in order to serve customers. But that hasn’t stopped the company from charging it – or negative test results as an alternative – to shows in Dallas. On August 16, Maroon 5 fans presented vaccination cards or showed negative tests to attend the band’s show at the Dos Equis Pavilion.
Styles is touring two other Texas shows, the AT&T Center in San Antonio and the Toyota Center in Houston.
The mask is likely to remain embroiled in a lawsuit. A state district judge ruled Wednesday that the governor cannot enforce his mask mandate ban, but the decision is likely to be appealed.
At Madison Square Garden in New York, where Styles has five shows, proof of vaccination is the only way to get in due to local laws. The same goes for a show in San Jose, California that was booked for November.
