Houston’s only Frank Lloyd Wright house is back on the market for $3.15M

The house is one of about 60 Usonian houses that Wright designed.

Located in Bunker Hill Village at Tall Oaks St. 12020, Wright designed the house in 1954 for insurance manager William L. Thaxton Jr. It is one of only three houses in Texas designed by Wright; the others are in Dallas and Amarillo. Plus, you’d have the honor of owning a house with your own Wikipedia page.

Thaxton House has over 8,000 square feet of living space, including five bedrooms and six and a half bathrooms.

The original house was 1,800 square feet and designed as a parallelogram that incorporated angles throughout the house. Wright also designed the house’s built-in furniture, although not all of it has survived.

According to the Houston Association of Realtors, Thaxton House also includes a 1995 addition by Kirksey Architecture that includes contemporary-style interiors, a large family room, and a central courtyard with a pool.

The Thaxton House is currently on sale for $ 3.15 million.
