Indian restaurant and market Desi District set to expand with McKinney location
The popular Irving Fusion Restaurant and Market Desi District opens next week in McKinney.
The original location has been attracting customers from near and far since its premiere in September 2017.
“I’ve got people driving from all over the place,” said Viswa Kandi, a co-owner of the Desi District, which is also a market with a halal meat counter, last spring.
Fans of the dish, which ranges from burrito-like kati rolls to more traditional Indian curries and biryanis, will be delighted to learn that the new location near the Craig Ranch at 3400 Collin McKinney Pkwy. December 6th, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Last spring, Desi District expanded to Little Elm, and another store is planned in Frisco. Since 2019 there has been a location in Plano that only sells meat.
The McKinney and Frisco locations will resemble the Irving flagship, Kandi said, offering a casual counter service with a small dining room as well as the food and meat counter components.
