“Jerry Jones has always over-paid for players”, Colin Cowherd Speaks On The Luxurious Lifestyle Of Dallas Cowboys Players And How It Has Spoiled Them.
Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd believes the Cowboys organization has spoiled its players way too much.
The 2020/21 NFL season was far from ideal for America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys. They finished with a 6-10 record, the second worst in the NFC East. While injuries had a lot to do with their failure, the players to take on the field weren’t overwhelming either.
In Week 5 against the New York Giants, the Cowboys lost their star QB, Dak Prescott, to a complicated fracture and dislocation of his right ankle – an injury that would sideline him for the remainder of the season. While backup QB Andy Dalton helped them win that particular game, things didn’t look good for the future.

Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the NFL
A list of the most valuable NFL franchises was recently released. The Dallas Cowboys topped this list for the 15th consecutive year. That’s right, the cowboys who haven’t made it to the Super Bowl in 25 years have managed to bring owner Jerry Jones around $ 800 million in annual sales.
They are currently valued at $ 6.5 billion, far more than the $ 140 million Jones paid for the team in 1989.

Cowherd believes that because of all the luxury, cowboys players went soft
HBO and NFL Films have partnered to offer fans an unfiltered, all-access experience for the 2021 Dallas Cowboys training camp, entitled Hard Knocks: The Dallas Cowboys. Fox Sports analyst Colin Cowherd gleaned some pretty interesting insights from the series.

He compared the cowboys’ training facility to a palace. It had all the luxuries you would normally find in a country club. From the weight rooms to the hotels to the training grounds. While all of this is supposed to aid player development, Cowherd believes it’s harmful and has “softened” players.
He pointed out that Jerry Jones always paid too much for players throughout his tenure as the owner. On the flip side, successful teams like the Patriots and the Ravens have never done this before and have always been conservative in the way they spend their money.
“The Dallas Cowboys are trust children. You’ve never stayed in anything in the past 25 years, it’s not a Ritz Carlton. ”Cowherd goes on to give some statistics that reveal how bad cowboys have been over the past 25 years. With just three playoff wins, they’re one of only four NFC teams that haven’t reached the Super Bowl in that time.

Even after all the disappointment of the past quarter century, Cowboys fans are hopeful. They have a Star QB in Prescott, one of the best reception cores in the league, and a vastly improved defense from last season. But there’s no doubt that Jerry and Co. need to make some improvements to the way they treat their players.
