Jonathan Adler opens in Dallas’ West Village with his largest store yet

Jonathan Adler opens what is known as a “Texas-size” store in Dallas.

Adler’s new store in the West Village at 3700 McKinney is his largest store to date at 6,600 square feet. The store plans to open by November 29 after some construction delays, including the arrival of the exterior sign. Adler has closed its shop in the Knox District and doubled its space with the new location. (The West Village store is located in the former J. Crew Space.)

While in town, Adler is honored with a career-winning design award from the Dallas-based Fashion Group International. The annual Black Tie Gala Iconic Glamor raises money for the Dallas FGI Scholarship Fund. The event will take place on Friday at the Thompson Hotel in downtown Dallas.

Jonathan Adler opens at 3700 McKinney Avenue in the West Village on Saturday. This photo was taken in the designer’s New York store.

Adler began making pottery and quit his main job to pursue a design career in 1993 when Barneys New York purchased its collection. Five years later he opened his first shop. Now he designs home decor, furniture, carpets, lighting, table tops, bedding, gifts and candles.

The new shop has its own lighting room with black marble flooring. Another area called “The Cube” shows some of Adler’s favorite designs. Room vignettes show different looks, which he describes as rustic from Parisian glamor to Hollywood Hills.

The store is also aimed at interior designers and offers a “design your own” program that enables each customer to create unique carpets, pillows, throws and upholstery. Customers can also bring their own fabrics.

“Everything is bigger in Texas,” Adler said in a press release. “Our new business looks radical – and radically different from anything we’ve done before. Whether you are looking for a little treasure or an entire room, we have it. I hope the customers like it as much as I do. “

La Vie Style House founders Jamie Coulter and Lindsey McClain reinvented classic kaftans and kimonos. The garments are made in Dallas. The Something Navy Store at 379 Bleecker Street in Manhattan.
