Kiwanis installs new president | Lifestyle
The Kiwanis Club of Tehachapi celebrated the inauguration of the 2021-2022 Dallas DeHart President at a festive barn party on September 18 at DeHart’s home in Tehachapi. Dept. 33 Lt. Gov. Shafter’s Craig Haney installed DeHart and pledged support for the Kiwanis clubs in the division, which is located throughout western Kern County.
DeHart said communication will be key to a successful year.
“An important part of leadership is listening,” DeHart said. “We will take everyone’s ideas into account, regardless of whether they are ultimately adopted or not. One idea leads to another.
“I look forward to an active year serving the children of Tehachapi and the world.”
DeHart, 23, a native of Whittier, moved to Tehachapi after earning a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics with a minor in physics and political science. She is a broker for Coldwell Banker and acts as a buyer and seller agent primarily in, but not limited to, Antelope Valley and Tehachapi. She lives in Golden Hills with her two dogs, Border Collie Asa and herding dog Nellie. She enjoys hobby farming, off-road driving and drag racing in her Camaro muscle car. She chairs the Kiwanis Fellowship Committee.
