Letters to the Editor — Three cheers for blood donors, human kindness, newspaper carrier

1 Blood Donor – I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who has ever donated blood. I never would have thought in a million years that I would become addicted to blood transfusions, but I did. It is not easy knowing that I depend on the kindness of strangers, but these lovable strangers, who selflessly donate their blood, enable me and countless others with extraordinary medical problems not only to stay alive, but also a reasonable one Quality to maintain life.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone who donates blood regularly! For anyone who has thought of donating blood, please do so. It’s not difficult and it will just take you a little time and rest assured that you will save lives.

For those interested, contact the American Red Cross at 214-678-4800 and be one of our friendly strangers.

Human Kindness – Just after lunch recently, I was shopping for some groceries at Walmart on Coit Road and Mapleshade Lane in Plano. Upon checking out, I found that I had forgotten my wallet. When I was explaining this to the clerk, a large mountain of a man, who recognized my plight, stepped forward and said, “It’s okay, I’ll take care of it.” I was down!

The amount wasn’t that much, but the generosity was as great as it was. He wore an orange polo shirt with North Texas Food Bank embroidery on the front. I asked him if he was related to the blackboard and he said it was him. At that moment, the North Texas Food Bank became my charity of choice and I hope it becomes yours too.

3 Our Fantastic Newspaper Delivery Man – I’ve been a loyal subscriber to the Dallas Morning News for over 50 years. By the way, my first job was at The News. I ran cutting machines next to WFAA on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings and made a whopping $ 2 an hour and loved the experience.

Our newspaper delivery person exceeds expectations! The paper is always on the veranda in front of our door. Double packed in rainy weather. I’m not sure who this wonderful person is, but I would like to thank you for this great service.

The Dallas Morning News is a welcome sight in the morning. Thanks very much.
