Mi Cocina Hosts Fun Run Benefitting Klyde Warren Park – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth
Hundreds of people came to the first Mambo Miles Race on Sunday morning, the proceeds of which went to Klyde Warren Park.
Mi Cocina moderated the fun run. Known for its signature Mambo Taxi Margarita, the restaurant will open its new location in Klyde Warren Park later this year.
People walked and ran the two-mile route through downtown Dallas before meeting at the finish line for margaritas and music.
“We work with the park and want to make sure we have something upfront and some fun at the same time,” said Edgar Guevara, President and CEO of M Crowd Restaurant Group, the mother of Mi Cocina companies.
Organizers said the money raised will support the park’s community events throughout the year.
“We were looking for a great partner when we selected Mi Cocina to enter the dining area and this restaurant revenue is a crucial part of what is paid for the Klyde Warren Park year-round program a concerted effort by donors and sponsors as well as the restaurant and food trucks, ”said Klyde Warren Park President Kit Sawers.
Mi Cocina will replace Savor, which closed in August 2020 after seven years in the park due to the economic blow from the pandemic.
