Motif FoodWorks’ Partnership with Lifestyle Eatery Coolgreens Showcases the Future of Plant-Based Meat

Customers respond positively to Motif innovations contained in a showcase burger that improve taste and texture; 93% said they would eat it regularly

BOSTON, August 25, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Motif FoodWorks, the food technology company with a mission to make plant-based foods taste better and more nutritious, announced the results of its limited-time promotion with healthy lifestyle restaurant Coolgreens, a company showcasing Motif’s innovative food technologies for the first time in a restaurant setting.

In a limited-time offer that ran from May to July 2021 in one of their central Dallas In stores, Coolgreens offered customers two separate “Feel Good” sandwiches. The sandwiches featured Motif’s flagship plant-based burger designed to demonstrate Hemami ™ and Appetex ™ food technologies. Through this partnership, Motif was able to assess how consumers were responding to the improved meat taste, texture, aroma and appearance of their food technology in a hospitality environment. At the same time, Coolgreens used the offer to evaluate how their guests received plant-based sandwich options.

Guest feedback, along with sales data, shows the effectiveness of better tasting plant-based products when used in mainstream catering. Of those surveyed, 93% of customers said they would regularly eat the Feel Good sandwiches made with Motif’s food tech, and 62% of those surveyed said they would buy the sandwiches again. The sandwiches performed well alongside the permanent options on the menu, highlighting the appeal of plant-based meat dishes that hit the bull’s eye in terms of taste and texture. Motif will use the feedback and data from the limited-time offering to develop and validate better herbal ingredients that customers can use in their formulations.
