Kendal has named Vice President Marketing Communications, Sales
Kendal Corporation has promoted Laura Jones from director of market research and strategy to vice president of marketing and communications; and Howard Braxton, from director of marketing and sales to vice president of marketing and sales.
Jones has over 20 years of marketing and sales experience and began her career with the Kendal-Crosslands Communities. She later returned to Kendal in 2019.
Braxton, meanwhile, has a career that includes experience with Genesis HealthCare, Kindred Health Care, and Acts Retirement-Life Communities. He joined Kendal in 2017.
LCS strengthens the New Business Development Team
LCS has promoted Zane Bennett to Director of Business Development to lay the foundation for its growth strategy. His new role will take effect on October 1st.
Bennett will partner with two other new additions to the company’s business development team, Joe Weisenburger and Ross Nichols. In his new role, he will work with Weisenburger to increase sales for Life Care Services, the LCS company responsible for Senior Living Management Services.
Bennett previously served as Executive Director for Plantation Village in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Cadence Living has named Stacy Cullen as the company’s Western Community Marketing Specialist.
In her new role, Cullen will help community marketing directors develop utilization strategies for Cadence-managed communities in the western United States

She has over 20 years of business development, sales and marketing experience and has worked with companies such as Procter & Gamble, Nephron Pharmaceuticals, Pacifica Senior Living, Marquis Senior Living, and Home Care Assistance.
Lifespace Communities has named John Falldine the Executive Director of Edgemere, a senior citizen shared apartment in Dallas.
He has already worked for Edgemere, first as Director of Operations when the community opened in 2001; and again as managing director from 2007 to 2017.
Waltonwood Ashburn, a senior housing community in Ashburn, Virginia, has appointed Tracy Philemon as an Independent Housing Manager.
In her new role, Philemon will focus on resident relationships and communication while running the business. She will also act as a “customer service champion” for self-employed residents.
Philemon began her senior living career in 2010 as a business development manager responsible for the operations of eight communities.
Anthem Memory Care has named Evonne Schlobohm as community relations director for Cascade Creek, a memory care community due to open later this summer in Rochester, Minnesota.
In her new role, Schlobohm will be responsible for public relations and marketing. Most recently, she served as the sales and marketing director for Prairie Meadows Senior Living in Kasson, Minnesota.
Epoch at Westford, an assisted living community of Epoch Senior Living in Westford, Massachusetts, has named Cynthia Schultz as a Senior Advisor.
As Senior Advisor, Shultz is responsible for educating and supporting families in the area about life and care in old age. She will also assist senior service professionals looking for specific memory maintenance solutions.
Cypress Cove, a Fort Myers, Florida life plan community, has named Maureen Oravec as director of sales.
Oravec joined Cypress Cove in November 2020, initially as a retirement advisor with a focus on engaging and selling prospects for the emerging neighborhood of the community, The Oaks at Cypress Cove.
NCAL appoints executive director
The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) has named LaShuan Bethea as Executive Director. She will take up her new role on September 1st.
She joins NCAL from Genesis HealthCare, where she serves as Vice President, Legislation and Reimbursement. Bethea succeeds Scott Tittle, who has served as Executive Director of NCAL since 2015 and is leaving the company to join Vium Capital as Managing Director and Head of Government Relations and External Affairs.
Greystone Appoints Vice President, FHA Lending
Karen Ford joined Greystone as the vice president of the company’s FHA lending team.
Ford will work in a leadership role on the FHA platform. She joins Greystone from Love Funding, where she served as Executive Vice President and COO. She has over 30 years of experience in the multi-family and healthcare loan industries.

Gayco Healthcare expands the role of Pharmaceutical Engagement Director
The long-standing health pharmacy Gayco Healthcare has hired Michael Holtzclaw for the newly created position of director for pharmacy engagement.
In his new role, Holtzclaw’s primary focus will be South Carolina, with a secondary focus in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Mississippi and Alabama. He brings more than 18 years of experience in direct senior living to the role.
BKV Group expands national design practice by three three
The design office BKV Group has appointed three to work on its national design practice.
The company has named Trace Jacques as a partner and senior architectural designer with an emphasis on hospitality; David Banta as Senior Living Lead for the Washington, DC Practice Site and Associate Partner; and Collin Koonce as Landscape Architectural Director for the Dallas Practice Site and Associate Partner.
As a partner and senior architectural designer, Jacques is responsible for leading and collaborating with the company’s hospitality team. Overall, he can look back on a career spanning more than 35 years.
In his new role, Banta will continue to expand the senior housing portfolio of the BKV Group, while Koonce will continue to work in all real estate sectors as Associate Partner and Head of Landscape Architecture and provide architecture, engineering, design and planning services to the company’s customers.
