Music store in Luzerne County helping homeless with concert
The Luzerne County store is now collecting groceries and clothing up to a planned benefit concert in the store.
DALLAS, Pennsylvania – Take a look at Wayne’s World in Dallas and you will see what the music store specializes in.
“Guitars, more guitars, cases with guitar pedals, guitar parts, clarinet reeds and the like, microphones,” explained General Manager Sam Cirvaolo.
But in the back they added something special to the store with a performance practice in mind.
“My buddy Jay bought the place, who pretty much ran it for a long time, and we decided to build a stage over there and put on shows. We’ve been doing that for a few months now,” explains Cirvaolo.
Next up is a benefit concert.
“Christmas was rolling around so we were going to do a Christmas show anyway and we were like, ‘Well why don’t we try to give back a little while we do it?’ So we’re going to do a food and clothing campaign to help the homeless in Wilkes-Barre, “said Cirvaolo.
From now until December 17th, when the concert takes place, you will be asked to bring donations for the homeless to a special dinner on Boxing Day.
When buyers come to the store to check the vinyl or other items, they will ask you to bring long-life food or clothing.
“When it comes to clothing, look for more warm winter clothes and more adult clothes than kids clothes because I don’t think there are that many homeless children in Wilkes-Barre,” said Cirvaolo.
Anything the store collects that is not donated to the homeless community on Christmas goes to food supplies and the Salvation Army.
