New apartment community on the way in Dallas’ Deep Ellum district

A busy property developer from North Texas is planning its second residential complex in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas.

Stillwater Capital built the Crosby Apartments on Hall Street in 2018, a few blocks south of the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. The five-story project with 336 units was sold to an international investor last year.

Stillwater Capital is now planning a second apartment complex on Taylor Street on Malcolm X Boulevard, according to planning documents filed with the state.

The more than $ 60 million rental community would begin construction early next year and open in 2024.

The Dallas architect Omniplan designed the project.

The proposed apartment complex is one of several new rental projects in the works for the area east of downtown Dallas.

Dallas-Fort Worth is the busiest housing market in the country with nearly 39,000 units under construction.

Stillwater Capital is working on several projects in North Texas including a mixed-use development at PGA’s new headquarters in Frisco and planned projects in Frisco and Forney.
