Construction of a new business park west of downtown Dallas has begun.
The Turnpike North logistics center will include two industrial buildings on Singleton Boulevard on Weir Street near Interstate 30.
The 636,000 square foot distribution and warehouse complex is being built by a fund operated by a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Ares Management Corp.
“We have been an active developer in the Dallas market for some time, completed 570,000 square foot industrial projects last year, and are excited to break the ground for the Turnpike North Logistics Center,” said Dustin Collins, vice president of Ares Real Estate Group it in a statement. “We believe this project is a great opportunity to deliver high quality infill products in a limited area.”
The nearly 36-acre industrial park was purchased by Denver-based Black Creek Group a year ago. The property at Loop 12 was used by a metal worker.
In July, Ares Management bought Black Creek Group, which has multiple projects in North Texas, for more than $ 1 billion.
The real estate company’s new business park on Singleton Boulevard is due to be completed by the end of 2022. The general contractor for the project is the Talley Riggins Construction Group.
The West Dallas Project is the newest industrial project in Dallas-Fort Worth to begin this year. Approximately 40 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space will be built in North Texas, the largest market of any market.
