New gym opens in Rockmart as the second location for Dallas-based Abb’s Muscle & Fitness Gym

It’s worth stopping by a Dallas-based fitness organization that now calls Rockmart home.

Owner Abbe Hockaday met with staff and trainers from Rockmart’s newest local company, Abb’s Muscle & Fitness Gym, which broke through with the Polk County Chamber of Commerce on Friday October 22nd. The new location was officially opened on October 16.

Abb’s Muscle & Fitness Gym, now also located in Rockmart adjacent to Walmart at 1775 Nathan Dean Parkway, is available to members at their Dallas and Rockmart locations.

“I’m very excited about where we are and where we are going,” she told those in attendance at the ceremony. “I know it’s more than just a gym, it’s a service. Lots of people were touched. ”

Hockaday, an International Federation of Body Building and Fitness (IFBB) expert in Women’s Physique, received her Pro Card at the age of 50. She is also a Christian and sees the gym as an opportunity to reach people who want to use the gym through their faith as well as by helping them exercise their bodies.

She began her professional bodybuilding career while working at Rheem Manufacturing for nearly 15 years, and has since started her first gym in Dallas and expanded to Rockmart in the past few weeks. Her bio explains that her goal is to “promote a holistic lifestyle by getting in shape, eating healthier, and encouraging others to do the same!”

Abb’s Muscle & Fitness Gym offers a variety of services and courses, including personal training, lifestyle fitness coaching, meal planning, weight training, tanning, and more. Courses such as yoga, cardio boot camp and even SilverSneakers and Renew Active programs are available.

Those who do not have a membership can register in the gym from Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7.30 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
